Moravcova Wins 3 Golds in the 2004-2005 FINA World Cup Series

LONG ISLAND, New York, February 12, 2005 – Four-time Olympian and a two-time silver medalist from Sydney Martina Moravcova added three more Gold medals at the 2004-2005 FINA Swimming World Cup Series.  Her World Cup medal collection now consists of 103 Golds, with 18 wins in this Series alone, and she is currently ranked 3rd in the Series' overall standings.

 

During the seventh leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2004-05 Series on Long Island, New York, Martina won the 100m butterfly (57.91), 100m individual medley (1,00.73), and 100m backstroke (1:00.68).  The World and European Champion and the winningest female swimmer of the Old continent in short course, Martina will next appear at the long course World Championships in Montreal, Canada, from July 17-31, 2005.

 

Martina is a native of Slovakia, and a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she earned her Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters in Applied Economics.  During her collegiate career at SMU, she became the second winningest female swimmer in the NCAA history with 10 individual and 4 team NCAA titles.  For more information please visit www.martinamoravcova.com.
